Costa Dorada Holidays: Great Spots for Santos Inocentos

November 14th, 2011 . by admin

Costa Dorada holidays,bargain holidays,holidays

There’s no denying it, Spain is a great destination for a whole bunch of reasons. Not only is it the place to come for holidays with sun, sea and sand – there’s an incredible amount of culture to enjoy too. You should try and visit in the summer months, but the country stays relatively mild throughout the year. Barcelona is a very popular destination, and so it Madrid. The southern tip is also a very popular location for bargain holidays.

There’s a tiny town in Castila-La-Mancha called Setiles, where Santos Inocentos is still celebrated in a big way. This isn’t very far from Costa Dorada holidays too. The night before, people take to the streets banging dustbin lids and blowing whistles trying to make as much noise as possible. Then on the day itself, December 28th, mass is said early in the small village church. Then there is a village auction, with the money collected going to a local children’s charity. Around mid-day, a man appears on the streets dressed as the devil with beard, tail and wooden sword. As he wanders the streets, the town children follow him trying to tear off his tail. He will chase them away brandishing his sword. Teenage boys of the town go from house to house asking for food donations and when enough food has been collected, they invite all the children in the town to join them in a Santos Incentos feast. Meanwhile their parents are at home tucking into ‘Cordero Asado’ which is Spanish roast lamb, a traditional meal eaten on this day.

Discover a World Of Nightlife on Sharm El Sheikh Holidays

Sharm el Sheikh holidays

On your Sharm el Sheikh holidays you’ll find that there is a world of nightlife just waiting to be discovered and when we say world, we mean world. You see the Naama Bay region is just full of sprawling bars and nightclubs from every region of the world. Here are some of our highlights:

America

For a taste of America in Naama Bay, you can’t go wrong with the Hard Rock Cafe. Selling burgers, pizzas and cocktails and with a Harley Davidson permanantly parked outside you can’t get much more American. Take the children here for food that they won’t be afraid to eat or go on your own in the evenings for classic cocktails to get the night off to a good start.

Morocco

The first one of the Pacha nightclubs opened up in Morocco during the 1960s and every club has adopted some of the original detailing. In Sharm, this is the starry celing that might have you believe that you’re not at the end of the Sahara region, but back in Morocco at the beginning. You can enjoy shisha here during the day if you’d rather not wait until later.

Japan

Many holidaymakers on their Sharm El Sheikh all inclusive holidays will hear about Little Buddha at some point during their holidays. The nightclub has its own sushi lounge, but it’s the decor that really sets it apart from all the other nightclubs. The dark reds and gold buddhas are an interesting touch, but a highlight are the Japanese inspired cocktails made with lychees.

Explore Aggelokastra on Cheap Holidays to Corfu

October 26th, 2011 . by admin

Cheap holidays, Corfu holidays

Last summer I visited Corfu with my boyfriend. We’d been wanting a getaway for sometime and managed to find some cheap holidays online. After poring over them we both settled on Corfu because it offers a mix of fascinating Greek history and sandy beaches. Before we travelled we researched places that we wanted to visit in our guidebooks and I discovered a fortress called Aggelokastra which translates into Castle of Angels. With a name like that I knew that this was a place that I just had to visit on my Corfu holidays. We had a hire car at our disposal so it really didn’t take us that long to visit the destination from our resort.

Aggelokastra was built in the 13th century by Michael Angelo and there’s a rumour that the guide book goes into that says that when the time came for it to be built he simply looked for the highest rock. He wanted somewhere that was not only steep but pretty impregnable so that it could really suceed as a fortress. Whether there’s any truth to this rumour or not we’ll never know but the fortress is certainly impregnable! The castle was originally built to defend Corfu from both African pirates and the Venetians. You can wander around the castle but there isn’t that much to see beyond the impressive facade and arched doorways. However, one of the highlights is a small church dedicated to the Archangels, Michael and Gabrie. The church also contains a stunning fresco of the Virgin Mary.

Three Ways That Travel Blogs Earn

September 13th, 2011 . by admin

Travel bloggers are some of the luckiest people on earth. They get to travel the world a lot, see beautiful sights, and experience different cultures. To be able to travel the world is a rare opportunity bestowed upon travel bloggers. And earning money out of travel blogs is an advantage that these travel bloggers have. There are three ways that travel blogs can earn and that is through travel blog advertising, affiliate marketing, and business promotion.

In travel blog advertising, you will be paid for the space you allot for an advertisement. Factors that affect how much you can earn from travel blog advertising depends on the type of advertisement you’re going to put up and the length of advertising period. Banner ads pay more than text ads and advertising for an entire year earns more than advertising for just a month. Discounts are usually provided to businesses who extend their advertising period.

Affiliate marketing is similar to advertising wherein you need to set up an advertisement on your travel blog. But instead of being paid for the advertising space, you’ll be paid based on the number of clicks you get. These are called pay per click (PPC) ads. The more clicks you get, the more you’ll earn. And that only means one thing; you’ll earn money which you can use for traveling the world.

Promoting businesses on your travel blog can also earn you money. Unlike affiliate marketing and travel blog advertising which pays continuously, business promotion is a onetime deal. If you own a Colombia travel blog, try transacting with Colombia restaurants, hotels, tour companies, museums, art galleries, and all other businesses which can benefit from tourism. Ask if they’d be willing to pay you in exchange for promoting them in your travel blog. If not, then maybe they can provide their services to you for free or with a discount.
